Unlike the 3rd eye, & DID. Multifoliate Personae Phenomenon is a terminology that was created specifically for the game. It is not known whether it is a super natural ability or a biological deformity.

While at face value Multifoliate Personae Phenomenon may appear to be quite similar to DID. The difference between the two is that Harman Smith absorbs personas & they all exist as separate entities parallel to one another. Harman Smith is recognized as the dominant personality.

By contrast DID stacks up personas one by one with the original personality of the host remaining at the bottom of their consciousness.
