In Saga games, you instantly refill your life after every battle so the resource management was only limited to the actual battle. What does govern the good Saga's is that they present you with an open world, and an hard imposed time limit where you must beat the game somewhere around 8 - 20 hours, because if you play past a certain point, you'll be forced to fight end game boss style enemies as your normal encounters with the actual bosses being near impossible to beat.
You must not have played it far. There are a lot of "World map based puzzles" in Saga Scarlet Grace. It was the most interesting thing about to me. You would have to trigger events that would trigger other events elsewhere with multiple possible outcomes depending on how you tried to do them. Its been so long since I picked it back up after beating it with that princess chick, but there is definitely a lot more than endless battles and text. You can completely alter the course of the game depending on the paths you choose to travel and there are a lot of hidden secrets.

Jack wrote: Fri Apr 04, 2025 1:16 pm I like SaGa because it punishes your choices, but it also didn't really seem to have a correct choice.
You simply worked with what you have. In Saga Frontier 2, I do recall that there was a proper way or META to play it, and if it were a normal Jrpg that wouldn't be a problem but it's SaGa.
To me a SaGa game is defined by throwing you into a completely hostile world, and you're thrown to the wolves to figure it out yourself since Saga games generally don't even bother to teach you how to play it.
I think Minstrel Song was the only one that actually came with a tutorial lol.
Minstrel Song is the only one that actually warns you and reminds you of the time limit that governs all of your actions.
All of the Romancing Saga games have the time limit, as does Saga Frontier 1, where you'll eventually reach a point of no return, simply because you'll simply be too weak to fight the enemies. They eventually become stronger than you if you just pointlessly kill shit without putting any thought on the progress of your adventure.
The creator of the Saga series stated that his goal with it was to try new and unique RPG mechanics with each new entry, if I'm not mistaken. No 2 Saga games are supposed to be the same. The only unifying mechanic is the random stat growth and learning system, though even that varies in some.

That video I posted for the Last Remnant actually did a good job of explaining how the battle rank system works. Its essentially designed to punish grinding. You can look at it like the enemies leveling up when you kill them. You get better stat growth when you fight stronger enemies, so you ideally want to fight as few weak enemies as possible and as many strong enemies as possible.
Jack wrote: Fri Apr 04, 2025 1:16 pm I was going to ask if Elma were Catholic Mary or Gnostic Mary, mainly because I have a hard time imagining Elma doing La Pieta. (That's the first image that comes to mind whenever I hear the name Mary. Magdelene) She's basically the main character, and there doesn't seem to be anyone above her since your main character is a boring piece of shit who simply exists and merely tags along like in most Jap games that allow you to create your character.
You don't know the story of Mary Magdalene? She is a completely different person than Mary, mother of Yeshua/Jesus. She was said to be a prostitute that became a follower of Jesus along with his disciples. Protestant Christianity like we have in the states doesn't even like to mention her. She was even also said to have potentially conceived a child with Jesus that is referred to as the Holy Grail with many Churches consider blasphemous and heretical talk. Tel-Os was supposed to be based up her. In the end of Xenosaga Ep. III
Spoiler
Its revealed that your party member, Chaos, was actually Yeshua which was signified by him fitting the biblical description of Jesus with bronze skin and white hair like a sheep, and that Kos-Mos was imbued with the soul of Mary Magdalene when she was created while Mary Magdalene's body was turned into Tel-Os. Elma was supposed to represent Kos-Mos and Tel-os in her benevolent protection of humanity and how she changes at the end.

Xenosaga Ep. III's ending implied white Jesus was a fake and that brown skin Jesus, aka Chaos was the real son of God.

Jack wrote: Fri Apr 04, 2025 1:16 pm I don't think you're interpreting what Xenoblade actually is. It's not really an episodic space opera like Star Wars is, although XC2 was the most space opera & exopolitical of the 3 and even the Torna expansion gave it more of an episodic feel where Torna is basically Empire Strikes Back.
These games are just an anthology of loosely connected stories based off of biblical allegory, nearly all of it is just gnostic but I also see a lot of analogs to Genesis especially in XCX. I came in thinking "So this is why XCX is considered as a side story? It barely has anything to do with gnosticism.", but then the Terminator cyborg reveals happened lol.
I'm also aware of the end game plot twist regarding the Lifepods, but that just makes the game even more Gnostic than I originally thought it was especially due to the Elma reveals. It's just much more subtle with it than XC3 where you outright see a cringe cutscene of a Noppon claim that "Noah isn't evil, the world is", lol.
I dunno it was funny as fuck to me, because it was a Noppon saying it.
It's part of the fun of the series, trying to identify what version of gnosticism that the latest Xeno game is using.
It sure beats the shit out of playing a new Yakuza where the only thing that's new between each game is that the characters get older, uglier, and progressively more retarded.

What's the in-lore retcon? Your argument stems from the intentions of what was originally intended for XCX, but Xenoblade Chronicles 1 itself was never meant to be related to the Xeno franchise and was simply tacked on by Iwata as a show of respect to Takahashi. (Why does his wife never write the games anymore?)
All of the games that came after Xenoblade 1, including the DE now have clear connections to Xeno as a whole
and I don't have a problem with that because Tetsuya Takahashi has always intended for the Xeno games to be about philosophies that he wanted to teach to the youth, but he figured that the message would get through to them much easier through a video game than it would if he taught them verbally.
Xenoblade X was simply meant to be its own thing like how Final Fantasy Chrystal Chronicles with its lore and 4 races completely separate from mainline FF games, or how Persona is a completely separate universe from mainline Shin Megami Tensei.

It was supposed to be its own self contained universe. The original plot of X was gutted. It featured a singular main character originally, but that had to be changed to accommodate the multiplayer aspect of it. The original main character was supposed to be some chick.

https://www.tcrf.net/Prerelease:Xenoblade_Chronicles_X

As for the retcon
Spoiler
If you've made is that far, then you know that the characters are all cyborgs who's bodies were stored on the ship they came there on because a human body wouldn't live long enough to endure the trip and that you were trying to get to it first before the Ganglion find and destroy it with your actual bodies. The original ending of X revealed that it wasn't their bodies that were stored, but their genes and consciousness within a Zohar looking machine that could recreate their bodies and send signals to their mnemosynes. When you get there, they find out that machine that was suppose to be storing your consciousness and beaming it to your android counterpart had already been completely destroyed upon landing.

So, not only were the last remnants of humanity already lost, but so was the thing that was supposed to streaming your consciousness to your android body in the first place. That raised the question of how were they still alive and able to move when the thing that their bodies and consciousness depended on was already destroyed on landing? Where did that black robot in the final boss fight that was already on the planet come from? How did Lang regenerate in the end? What was the story with the Sumerians and their connection to humanity? What's the lore behind L, who's name is short for Lucifer? What's so special about Mira? What happened to the other shipped that escaped Earth?
All of that was left as a cliffhanger that hasn't been followed up on for over 10 years. If they are retconning it to be linked to the Xenoblade Chronicles universe, then that all becomes moot. Everything can be explained away by some stupid multiverse bullshit.
Jack wrote: Fri Apr 04, 2025 1:16 pm The entire conflict of XC3 is basically just retards waking up to the reality that they were living within a self imposed prison world that was completely fabricated by their elite classes, but their solution is to return back to their equally as dysfunctional, and equally as fake simulated/illusionary worlds by merging the two fictional (it's fictional within the in-game context) worlds into one.
You might have misinterpreted the ending a little bit.

The world XC3 was created at the exact point the XC1 and XC2 words collided and destroyed each other with the intent that everyone would be stored and then recreated after. All of humanity was stored in XC2 driver cubes inside of a big spherical machine that used Ontos as its core.

The way Ontos worked was that it was the central, most powerful core and used Logos and Pneuma to make balanced decisions with Logos(Malos) governing Logic and making conservative decisions and Pneuma(Hikari/Mythra and Pyra) governed Emotion and made progressive decisions to govern it. That's what led to the event of XC1. Without Logos or Pneuma, Alpha replaced them with Zanza and Meynath who were each given a (fake)Monado that made them each an administrator to replace Pneuma and Logos. When Zanza killed Meynath and took her Monado, that unbalanced things, so he empowered Shulk to take Zanza down and then restore order with his (real)Monado. In the end, Shulk rejected become the new administrator/god and that left Ontos in a state with no guidance again.

Logos's core washed up on a beach somewhere an became the core of the Blade of the End which is why is had so much power and could bend reality as well as cut through anything. Pneuma's core became the basis for Ouroboros which allowed two beings to fuse together like Pyra and Hikari/Mythra. Neither was governing or regulating the decision of Ontos as a result.

As indirectly shown by Future Redeemed, without the balance and regulation of Pneuma or Logos, Ontos's decision making went to the absolute extremes of conservative and progressive with one facet Alpha seeking to destroy the remnants of the old humanity entirely to replace them with the newly born humans of XC3's universe with a new world in its place as an ultimate expression progressivism/change and the other, Zeta/Z, seeking to keep everything absolutely the same forever with no change at all for all eternity as the ultimate expression of conservatism. The greatest extreme of Conservatism and Progressivism imaginable do to no form of regulation or balance. Something Nia and Melia didn't foresee when they designed Origin.

In the ending of XC3, the universes of XC1 and XC2 reseparate and continue past each other after the point of collision with the 3 races associated with each returning to their respective universe. Then the universes resumes immediately at the point after the exact moment of collision like nothing that transpired during the thousands of years in the unchanging world of XC3 had ever happened save for Noa retaining memories of it. Its like the 10s of thousands of years in the XC3 world all occurred in a fraction of a second with no evidence that it ever took place.

Krizzx wrote: Thu Apr 03, 2025 3:12 pm I never would have gotten into Saga games if not for Saga Frontier 2. The gameplay, music, the story. They were like nothing else I ever played. Also, I wouldn't really call it linear. It jumps around in time between multiple characters and you can permanently alter certain events in the game depending on things you do. Like, I accidently got Cordelia, or whatever Wil Knights wife is named killed in a mission. I thought I would get a game over or have to restart. Its kept going with her dead. Scarlet Grace is not bad. It doesn't belong on a list with Unlimited Saga or Emerald Beyond. You also left out the Last Remnant. It doesn't have Saga in name, but that was 100% a Saga game.
Last Remnant generally isn't considered a Saga game similar to how Maken X / Maken Shao isn't considered as a Megami Tensei game, although imo Maken is much more worthy of that label than fucking Kuznoha Raido.
I did forget that Remnant existed though, that game also plays much more like Saga.
I'm not saying Saga 2 is bad at all (I'm implicating that it doesn't get hated on as much for diverging away from the SaGa formula, because Unlimited, Scarlet & Emerald exist.), when judged as a stand alone, or a game that has nothing to do with Saga.
I would call it a masterpiece, because the music is beautiful (Saga 2 is the 2nd best Saga OST after Unlimited Saga) and the gfx stood out back then, as is the storybook style narrative. It's just that this feels way more like a Final Fantasy game than it does a SaGa. You could even just rewrite the names and countries to relate with Ivalice and it would feel like a Rpg version of Final Fantasy Tactics, or at least one that predated XII.

I'm not denigrating Saga 2, I'm saying that it plays nothing like a real Saga game kinda like how during its era, Street Fighter 3 was generally not considered as a real Street Fighter game by diehard Street Fucker fans.
SF3 does retroactively feel more like a SF now if only due to how Street Fighter 5 & 6 went completely off the rails.

That's debatable with Scarlet Grace. It had the most complex combat of the series, but that's also its downfall since every single battle feels as long as a typical Strategy game battle, but all you really do in that game is read some boring text and then pursue more battles, and the battles are stacked upon battles. They eventually become stronger than you if you just pointlessly kill shit without putting any thought on the progress of your adventure.

This is why Scarlet Grace is boring as hell to me, every single battle feels like you're playing the End Game of a SaGa.
Not in terms of difficulty (which is moderate) but the lentgh of the battle. The fights take too damn long to finish and it's partly because Scarlet Grace tried to be more realistic and prevented you from being too over powerered.
Which again also kills part of the appeal for me, because part of the fun of a SaGa game is breaking the game.
Saga Frontier 1 had a few characters who completely broke the game just due to their innate traits.
Blue is obvious since he's the only true pure magic user.
Asellus is another one, because she can completely break past the stat limit with her Mystic skills.

When faced with so much build variety from the previous game, Saga 2 felt really bland in comparison since none of the characters were truly unique from each other except for maybe Gustave (Who's the exact opposite of Blue.), but you don't even get to play the end game as him. You're stuck with that loser Will.

I don't get the linear vs non-linear argument like one somehow is better than the other. When Zelda stopped being linear and structured, it stopped being memorable. Go back to Wind Waker, Ocarina of Time, or even a Link to the Past. There are loads of memorable, defining, standout moments throughout each of those games. Now, what are the memorable, standout moments in Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom? Then, on the other end of linear you have FFXIII. The whole game was like 1 big hallway until you get to the Calm Lands like area near the end. Linear or non-linear don't matter. What matters is that its done well.
I agree 100%. I prefer linear games (of course I would. I view arcade games, as gaming in its purest form where the game lives & dies by its ruleset.), but it's like you're forgetting that SaGa games are wholly defined by their non-linearity. Everything about SaGa is supposed to be free form, which also includes the combat. You're always given the freedom to spec out your characters any way you wish so long as you've unlocked the skills for it.
You're really only limited by your stats, which don't seem to be hardcapped but most SaGa characters have a completely different spread of stats that reflect their personality so they don't all start at a good place.

As I said earlier, the best part about Saga's open world is that you're given a time limit. SaGa games are the only open world games I know of, that punishes you for mindlessly exploring lol.

I absolutely hate the redesigns. Elma was originally designed to be a reference to Tel-Os from Xenosaga with her brown skin, white hair and almond shaped emerald eyes. Who was, herself, a reference to Mary Magdalene.
The differences in these designs are so subtle that they don't matter to me. I'm just going to make her run around naked anyway so what do I care? You make it sound as if Elma went from DMC1 Dante to DMC2 Dante, who are actually completely different characters in everything but name.
These two Elmas simply just look like different artist renditions of the same character. These differences aren't drastic like Leon from RE4 & RE4 Demake, where he looks like an avg guy in the demake, but looks like some kind of god of beauty or ladies man in the original. That's what I liked about that era of RE, it looked like you were playing as gods in the form of humans, and it played like they were gods.
None of the two Elma's look avg and it's debatable on which one looks more generic. They both stand out.
Who cares about Lin, she's just some 13 year old and looks it. I just use HB or L in her place because she seems to be a tank hybrid anyway whereas the other two are pure tanks.

I was going to ask if Elma were Catholic Mary or Gnostic Mary, mainly because I have a hard time imagining Elma doing La Pieta. (That's the first image that comes to mind whenever I hear the name Mary. Magdelene) She's basically the main character, and there doesn't seem to be anyone above her since your main character is a boring piece of shit who simply exists and merely tags along like in most Jap games that allow you to create your character.

I did spoil the ending just based off of your comments and I was impressed by what I saw.
I disagree with your assertion that she's Mary. She's basically Sophia, and she's even depicted as a visitor/alien from outside of the perimeter. I was wondering why Galea was basically written out of the XC series, since I always thought that she was the Sophia analog. Now I understand why Monolith seems to always depict Elma as the strongest or give her the most focus in their xenoblade promotional arts that also feature the other protags, and even in other games that she's in.

IMO, Melia is the Mother Mary figure and she fits both the Catholic & Gnostic depictions of Mary. She was basically Gnostic Mary in XC1 where she's a fellow traveler & possible love interest in the game, and Catholic Mary in XC3 where she's depicted as motherly but still watching over the savior of her world Shulk, even after he disappeared. All other Christian depictions of Mary are irrelevant since they just depict her as a whore lol.
Their faces are so undetailed now.
Both just looks like anime shit to me.
I saw it hinted by some people that they may be trying to connect Elma to Alvis, which means they are retconning the entire lore.
The original Xenoblade X was meant to be a completely different universe separate from Chronicles. It also had Chronicles removed from its name to signify this, but Nintendo of America re-added it so people would falsely think they were connected for marketing. Looks like this is being forced into the Chronicles universe instead of being its own thing, now. It was interested in seeing the direction X would go with the big reveal in the ending, but its looking like they are just going to link it Xenoblade Chronicles 1-3 now. No more exploration of the X universe or Mira.
I don't think you're interpreting what Xenoblade actually is.

We simply knew nothing about Alvis in XC1. XC2 revealed that he's related to Mythra & Malos and they were all created by Klaus who was the Demiurge analog for XC1 & 2. (The brilliance of that is that they turned him into a relatable Valentinian in XC2, as opposed to the much more common demiurge depiction from XC1.)
Pneuma (Mythra), Malos, & Ontos (Alvis) are basically Aeons but only Alvis truly fits the literal description of an Aeon.
By XC3 he's the only one of the 3 still alive (or still functional since Mythra basically became human after Pneuma died, due to stupid ass Shonen animu reasons.), and he still functions as the core Administrator of the Xeno universe. (He serves a similar function as Miang from Xenogears, except he's depicted as above the demiurge in both XC1 & XC3, rather than under like Miang was to Deus.)
I hate multiverses, but that's not what Xeno games are going for. They're trying to depict a gnostic & vedic derived form of spirituality that's entirely told through the veil of Sci Fi. (Most Sci Fi stories are actually just veiled religious allegories, because they come from a mindset that I also share, that religion is mostly written by cargo cult retards who misinterpreted the high technology that they were witnessing. Xenogears even went to the trouble of detailing the history of their world's cargo cult, although it's actually just referencing our real world.)
The universe setting they're using, is just trying to represent that no matter how many times that you think you're in the real world, you really just find yourself inside another simulation.
In each of the Xeno games, they're always searching for Pleroma. Whether that'd be Rex's Elysium, XCX cast trying to come back to their human bodies, Shulk's world without Gods, or the XC3 cast literally trying to get out of a simulated world, to return to the simulated world that they originally came from which would be the dual worlds of Xeno 1 & 2.

Xeno X being a completely different continuity doesn't mean shit, because it too is merely another layer of Maya, or the projected reality.
Which depiction of Earth is actually real? XCX or XC1's? (Although if I recall, we don't actually see Klaus's Earth until XC2.)
The answer doesn't matter.
Earth itself is the Xeno analog for Pleroma, or the actual reality beyond the illusionary worlds.
It's the original state that all the other simulations imitated.
The Christian word would be Heaven, but I feel that Heaven is too loaded of a word and has been completely poisoned by Christian retards who legit believe that they'll be rewarded with Golden Mansions in Heaven when heaven is just a state of mind, not an actual place made of gold, lol. Within the Xeno games, the word pleroma makes more sense since they always reveal their paradises & utopias to be made up fake garbage, whether that's the end game reveal in XCX, or Rex's childish quest for Elysium.
They're all just referencing the same dilemma, man's search for Heaven on Earth but then have to cope with the reality that they were being driven by false hope.

Even if Xeno X ever had a direct sequel, it would just end up like Xeno 1 - 3, where it doesn't function like a traditional
chronological story. You're meant to interpret the games as an anthology that merely share some characters who actually are from the previous games (Only a few, Rex, Shulk, Nia, Melia and Poppi.), but they've lived so long that the realities they inhabit are no longer the same projected world that they resided in back when we were playing as them.
Each of these worlds has an incarnation of specific people such as Vandham, who generally serve as the awakening but awakening generally involves a form of suffering (suffering is exercising for the mind. You must feel pain, to achieve gain. It's a similar concept with the mind.) or trauma which is what this guy represents and is also why he rarely ever survives any game that he's in lol.

It's similar to the bible where you'll sometimes come across familiar names but those familiar names will take on a completely different role depending on the context of that specific story.
We see this happen with Rex & Shulk who were basically the savior figures of their respective games.
Savior but not exactly Jesus. I don't think any of the games have tried to depict Jesus yet. Elma would actually be the closest because she's a mysterious foreigner from outside of the world. That description also fits Sophia & she's most likely a Sophia analog because Elma is also depicted as trying to fix a mistake, as was Galea/ Meyneth.

The entire conflict of XC3 is basically just retards waking up to the reality that they were living within a self imposed prison world that was completely fabricated by their elite classes, but their solution is to return back to their equally as dysfunctional, and equally as fake simulated/illusionary worlds by merging the two fictional (it's fictional within the in-game context) worlds into one.

Xenoblade setting is basically a story that has no end, but it does have a beginning, the original scenario with Klaus & Galea and ironically their beginning could also be its end, because from what we know the real world in the Xenoblade setting is either the Earth that's depicted in Klaus's universe, or the Earth that's depicted in XCX.
Me personally, I think it'd be cool if it turned out that pleroma was actually just Chrono Trigger or Xenogears.
Xenogears itself was originally meant to be Final Fantasy & then Chrono Trigger, but Takahashi is such a hardheaded fuck, he made Xenogears anyway when he was supposed to make a Chrono Trigger sequel.
It doesn't matter to me what it was originally intended as, so long as the end destination is just as interesting.
In this case, the Xeno series is far more interesting than anything Final Faggotry ever did. (aside for FF6 & FF7, but you could easily fit those two games into a Xeno setting. FF6 would work better as a Xenogears style flashback.)
Chrono Trigger has an interesting setting but I think they completely dropped the ball with trying to implement dualism in Chrono Cross. When I speak of "As Above, So Below." Chrono Cross is somewhat how I envision it. Both worlds affect each other with the real world taking precedence, and the lesser world being a complete distortion of that world.
Although the Persona 2 games & the original Persona did a much better job of that but that's pretty obvious considering who made those games. (obvious really. Look at how P3, P4 & P5 have fucking nothing to do with the microcosm & the macrocosm. Outside of the Velvet room which just doesn't even bother to make sense in any game it appeared in after P2 lol.)
Xenoblade 2's conflict somewhat represented this when their world fell apart & changed shape after Shulk killed his fake god from his setting. Even though his god, is the same god from XC2. XC2 was Valentinian inspired so they depicted Rex being friends with him. Whereas someone like Malos basically represents your typical modern day edgelord gnostic who just wants to kill god. The interesting thing is that Malos became distorted due to his driver, who was an analog for the Vatican.
Now, back to the direct and Duskblood. I have ZERO issue with PVPVE.
Is that what it is? I was under the impression that it was just pvp slop like the latest Elden Ring game. If it's PVPVE, then who cares? That's what Bloodborne already was.
Main point in the "Soulsblight" thread was how I am sick of seeing everyone trying to make a souls-clone. I'm sick of seeing the same game over and over and over. From Software should've changed its name to "Souls Factory." The whole reason I like From Software is because they made creative and original games that were unlike anything anyone else put out. I'm happy they are doing something unique
Yeah I still need to reply to that. I ain't got time to because I am trying to make a game since I feel pressured to because I don't want people to spread demos of that k7 sindrome thing, which I feel is not representative of my work. Sure people like it, but I don't give a shit. I only did that long ago, to show an artist how I turned his art into a moving digital comic .
If peeps want to spread anything, I'd rather it'd be an actual game and not some digi comic.[/quote]
That Donkey game at the end of the direct looked fun. I'm guessing they've finally moved on beyond DK the 3rd, because this one looks like a new DK after 20 years of the one from Donkey Kong Country.
My first thought is that he was either Diddy grown up or Kiddy Kong grown up.
Them prices, though... I hope they're just placeholders. I liked what I saw, but not for that much fucking money.
The hilarious part is that these are the digital prices for a non-physical product that requires no shipping or manufacturing, so Nintendo can't even blame tariffs on that. That's just Shitendo being greedy assholes.
The physical prices are even worse, but even that looks like Nintendo tax where they just price hike the game because Nintendo knows that their 40 yr old kid audience will lap up any price tag and allow Nintendo to bust a nut in their mouth so long as the name brand is Nintendo lol.
Not even gaystation fags are that loyal to their piece of shit plastic.
Only the console itself is reasonably priced and is exactly what I was expecting to pay.

I never would have gotten into Saga games if not for Saga Frontier 2.

I'm probably not getting Xenoblade X Remastered. I'm interested in the after story, because the original game on the Wii U ended on a cliff hanger, but given how long it takes to beat, I really don't feel like going through all of that again. The new epilogue is supposed finish that I guess, but I'm not going to play through an "inferior" version of the game all over again just for that. No touchpad functionality, and the stuff the western audience found un-kosher like the boob slider and more revealing outfits have been permanently removed. Unless there is a fuckton of new content, like 40 hours worth, playing through it again just for the epilogue isn't worth it.

I absolutely hate the redesigns. Elma was originally designed to be a reference to Tel-Os from Xenosaga with her brown skin, white hair and almond shaped emerald eyes. Who was, herself, a reference to Mary Magdalene.
ImageImage
The redesign makes her look like Alvis with his tan skin and silver hair. She has needle sized nostrils, rectangular eyes, like Alvis, with a blue color, thin lips and a more square jawline now.
Image

Image
They expression looks so cold and lifeless on her new model. Its a downgrade to me. They also redesigned Lin and made her face look more flat and childish.
Image
Their faces are so undetailed now. I saw it hinted by some people that they may be trying to connect Elma to Alvis, which means they are retconning the entire lore.

No more exploration of the X universe or Mira.

The game already had its lore butchered in the original western release when they changed the acronym of B.L.A.D.E. "Beyond Logos Artificial Destiny Emancipator," which essentially meant it was an organization that was created to free humanity from the control of god, to "Builders of the Legacy After the Destruction of Earth" and they changed the name of mech's from DOLLS, which once again had plot ramifications, to Skels which always sounded fucking stupid to me.

I'm also definitely looking forward to Silksong. Hollow Knight was one of those games I saw people bring up a lot, but I never gave a second thought. I didn't like the white and black artstyle and thought it was just overhyped art fag, Igavania bullshit, but the game was fucking awesome when I finally gave it a try. Silksong was announced 6 YEARS AGO. It kept getting delayed with the last big delay happening after Ubisoft's CEO tried to charge people for installations.

Them prices, though... I hope they're just placeholders. I liked what I saw, but not for that much fucking money.

I was hype during the direct then I was like fuck no when I saw how huge the Nintendo tax is. $90 for a fucking game? A fucking Kirby port with dlc is $80. Sure I paid over 100 for Unicorn Overlord but that was the premium edition that came with a card game, art books, music cds and all sorts of swag. It was not the standard retail price.
I was hype for Dustblood, until I found out it was just a multiplayer game.
Kax DaRealEvul told me a day before the direct that Bloodborne was going to be a Switch 2 exclusive.
I was like "Fuck that gay ass faek internet news", who would've thought that it was actually right? It's Bloodborne in everything but name.
Switch 2 had a lot of good games that they showed. Mario Kart World is basically the pitch that I think I had in this thread, when I said that a new Mario Odyssey should let you ride a Mario Kart to get to a new stage as if it were a GTA game. If these games were $60, I'd get Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bonanza & Dustblood on day 1. Of course Metroid Prime 4, but I'm already getting that on Switch since I'm not sure if I'll ever buy a Switch 2. I'll mostly get those games from an old friend of ours, Captain Jack Sparrow.
The new Daemon X Machina could've interested me, if Fromsoft didn't revive Armored Core and turned into a pure action game.
This Direct would've been one of the best ones I've seen in years, until you find out how overpriced all of the software & accessories are.
The games aren't even stored on game cards any more. It uses a system similar to PS4 & PS5 where your games are basically useless frisbees that function as a security check.

Switch 2 cost as much as a base PS5, but it's barely as strong as a PS4 lol.
Switch 2 games retail at $70 but Big Name Brand games retail at $80-90.
I still have never bought a single game at $70 and I'm not starting now.
("Yeah because you'll just buy them for $80", nope not that either fuck that.)
LOL they buying Yakuza 0 for $70 when you can buy that game for $5 on Steam & PS5, and have much better performance and graphics. Switch 2 being portable is no longer an argument because StreamDeck is also portable.

I recently bought a 1 tb Microsd only to find out that it won't be compatible with Switch 2 lol.
Fuck Nintendo, they turned out to be even more greedy than Soyny Gaystation & Microdik Suckbox.
PS5 is actually a steal once you get over the price of the system because most PS5 games are dirt cheap.
Well most of the real games that people would actually want to play. Their first party shit is $70+ but only fucking casuals who play games just to watch the cutscenes are into that.
Plus on Playstation, I can finally play games that I've been missing for years like Timesplitters Future Perfect & 2, & Rogue Galaxy. All of them are just as good as I remember.

I was planning to sell the PS5 slim to get a Switch 2 but then the absurd price of the games (which will never go down in price.) made me decide against that. At least the PS5 makes a pretty good blu ray player since it has no games, but honestly most of the games I would want aren't even on Switch like Ninja Gaiden 4 & Virtua Fighter 6 and they won't be on Switch 2 since Switch 2 is basically just ps4 hardware. There's a reason why Switch 2 is only getting Final Fantasy Remake but not Rebirth. Not that you'd want either game, since they're boring grindy bullshit. I don't blame ff fans for hating action games so much when their main exposure to 'action' games is bullshit like Rebirth & Remake.

My favorite Saga game and one of my top 10 favorite games in existence, Saga Frontier 2, has finally gotten a release on something other than the PS1.
LOL he likes the most linear SaGa that plays the least like a SaGa game. That's like saying that Contra Force is your fave Contra.
Sure it's a good game, but it's not Contra and that's what I think of SaGa 2, not a real Saga gaem.
SaGa 2 is just lucky that every Saga made after it is even worse. (Unlimited, Scarlet, Emerald,)
For some reason only their remakes are good these days like Minstrel Song & Romancing Saga 2.
DaRealEvilone wrote: Tue Apr 01, 2025 5:49 am Switch 2 is coming is the end of gaming or revival one lol , sometimes i just think is time to move on lol or maybe i just want to play a switch one game on it or maybe i will just homevrew it , direct in 2 days , king got what he wants tomodachi life 2 what about me smtiv , shadow of colossus ,
Bruh why you keep saying that when I never said anything about wanting a fucking tomadachi game. I said I wanted Xenoblade Warriors, a new Fire Emblem & Metroid Prime 4. They only showed Prime 4 and that doesn't count since they already revealed it. That direct sucked ass and fuck Kuzunoha Raido, I can't believe people are suddenly pretending that game is good when it's always been ass. Digital Devil Saga 1 & 2 is what you want. Even better would be Devil Survivor 1 but remade with P5 gfx or some shit. That's what I'd want, not trash that pretend to suddenly love just due to recency bias.

Tomadachi Life was fun as a $40, but I ain't paying $60 for that, just like how I ain't paying $80-90 for switch 2 games. (I might pay $70 for the Donkey Kong game.) It's nice to see that my intuition always guides me in the right direction, I suddenly jumped ship to gaystation 5 back in December where most of its $70 catalog actually only cost about $5-$30 if you buy gaystation games from Amazon or just wait for a digital sale. Even Final Faggotry Rebirth can be bought for like $5 on PS5 and it just came out last year.

I didn't want to return to this goddamn thread, 3 years ago part-nah, I basically just did what I did in that thread
viewtopic.php?t=354
Where I'm just chilling, talking bout what ima bout to do with the expectation that the person reading it would reply, only to get hit with some crazy bullshit about "You betrayed me!" and "I'm just trying to save you!"
Wtf is that? All of that shit sounded unhinged to me. Need to remember, I'm banned from most of the internet anyway so I don't bother to pay attention, understand or even notice what the current over socialized hyperreality is of modern internet. Made me swear off internet for nearly 3 years. Internet sucks ass now, but at least these days there's more & more people now who are aware that Internet Left & Right wingers are annoying as shit and need to be gulagged.
Mr X, well he told me not to say his name so I'll just call him Reducto. Well Reducto for some reason misread one of my posts where he thinks that I'm siding with Commie Chinese over America when if you actually read the context of the post (I don't have it.)
I was actually saying that when given a choice between the Left wing USA vs CCP China, that I'd rather side with the CCP because CCP's rules are less retarded. CCP are hardline jingoists so it's much easier to understand what you're not allowed to say unlike with OpenSociety USA where they just make up new sjw rules every other week which leads to retarded Lefty vs Lefty violence where Leftys are burning the Tesla cars that are mainly driven by other Leftys. When faced with that insanity, of course most people would choose CCP. You're much less likely to suffer from friendly fire by the CCP than you would by whatever remains of the USA Open Society faction. (These losers mostly just ran away back to Europe, continent of the cucks and these EU fucks are doing their best to try and police Japan's culture, hoping for a repeat of what they did to the USA.)
No I'm not a fucking lefty, but nobody sane ever believed that anyway. It's only this retarded site that thought that. Although it did lead to lots of funny convos with actual Lefties who told me straight up that none of those rumors about me sounded believable anyway.

When you live in an Ultra Left state like I do (The only one that Trump was not close to flipping at all.), it's actually common to try and blend in with the other leftys. That's just common sense, look at what these crazy Leftys do to their fellow Leftys that drive Teslas. Now imagine what they'd do to you if they find out that you're not a lefty.
That's what I was talking about motherfucker, but for some reason this Reducto guy always assumes that I'm talking about internet bullshit, and has a hard time comprehending that I'm referring to real world geopolitics that I have to navigate through in real life just due to the location of where I live.
Even Kax claims that he also just tries to blend in when he's around Antifa fags in California, and we all know he's not a lefty. He's just fucking cray cray lol.
one of those Sphere pics I poasted that triggered the fuck out of this forum so much was actually a picture of Ella Freya. (If only I didn't feel forced into deleting them pics, because it'd be funnier now in 2025 seeing the Ella pic that pissed off this website so much, when Ella is basically world famous these days but idiots around here were mad as fuck at seeing Ella.) I used to be extremely extroverted until going though some dumbass bullshit with this site, to where I learned it's better to just shut the fuck up when you're around introverts who don't understand extroverted people don't expect you to over analyze every fucking word you say. We're merely trying to keep the conversation flowing and I'm an ENTP at that, which is a person who will assume roles just to keep the conversation going. Fuck I try talking about Prison economics because I think I'm relating only for the fuckheads around here to make rumors about me (because they don't understand what I'm saying, and seem to think that I'm being literal when I'm using prison slang.) which of course didn't go anywhere, because I don't pay attention to the over socialized bullshit that goes on in the internet.

It's just note to myself, you have to behave in a completely different way when around introverts because they have a tendency to overthink and don't understand that the only thing that extroverts care about is maintaining energy, keeping the convo flowing. This is a problem though because the more you speak, the higher the likelihood that introverts will take you out of context because they're not really paying attention to the in the moment details of the convo. Nah, these faggy bastards are out here overanalyzing some shit that you said months or years ago that you don't even fucking remember lol. The average person doesn't remember the details of interactions from yesterday but introverted fucks expect you to remember chronology from months to years ago, and even then what you said, is devoid of any context and instead replaced with their interpretation of their over analyzation.
That shit is annoying, because I end up having to talk about shit that I wasn't even talking about but since words have completely different meaning depending on the context, the meaning of what I say gets lost in translation. Not due to language barriers, but simply due to the differences that extroverted & introverted people process events, details, & words.

Before fucks get triggered again, this time both of the pics are Ella but one of them is a repost from 3 years ago.

https://www.youtube.com/@EraNyan

I said nothing, because Ella wasn't known outside of Japan at the time, although it's ironic that she eventually became somewhat famous outside of Japan after RE4 Demake came out because cap hired her to be Ash.
Capcom actually shilled both Ella (a woman) & the transformer, and I knew in advance that Japan would start doing that because Ella was already popular in Japan, & the other fucker kindsa resembles some Jap historical figures.
It has nothing to do with woke at all, but you can't explain that since both sides of political internet are imo performative and seem to just want to be angered by something that goes against their gospel or at least appears that way.

Ella is extremely racist against White guys lol. (that's sad, hating your own kind.)
She's basically like a younger zoomer version of what I always said "I'd only consider a huwite woman above the station of a pet if they become Japanese." I dunno I said something like that in the old forums.
Sure I don't think like that anymore, mainly because I hate modern Japan and their love for Korean & Modern American bullshit.
It seems that the Jap Boomers alone, are the only group actually trying to keep Japan alive, but it's a lost cause once they're gone in a few years because the avg Millennial Jap is an historically ignorant & cultureless bugman. They brag about being raised by feminists LOL! China doesn't even need to enact revenge on them, because Japs will die out of their own accord due to the faggy useless excuses for men that comprise the Jap Millennial & Zoomer youth.

BTW I'm enjoying Xenoblade X. I wasn't it expecting to to be so damn good. It's one of the best openworlds I've ever seen and its funny to me how these are the same guys who also made BOTW but XCX's openworld isn't copy and pasted maps like BOTW is.
What the fuck happened with Xenoblade 2 & 3? (IMO 3 is the worst. It's like the opposite of 2 where 2 starts out as shit, but finally gets good at the end of the game. 3 starts out good, but then suddenly turns to shit after the Execution scene near the end of the game.)
How are they so much worse than X when X was already Xenoblade, but PERFECTED? About the only con of X is that the story is no longer a focus like it is in 1,2, & 3 but so what? X is a much better game due to it. The XC1 remake should've been remade with X's battle system since X is just a refined version of XC1 combat. X is a damn masterpiece. It's basically like a Battlestar Galatica Stargate version of Final Fantasy 12.
I love how everyone uses guns, and it feels badass to just gang up on alien life and just gun them down.
You can even play as Motoko Kusanagi's English voice actress, so I made my character look like Motoko with long hair.

(Or basically my Miyabi Kagura Holographic Sentient AI character.

I made Frye look like Batou.

I tried going for the Terminator look but I'm lacking a motorcycle jacket.

LOL Alien thongs

If you ever pondered what's actually going on in American Military bases, XCX does a damn good job of showing to you what it's like. Where they basically have makeshift town centers that resemble USA suburbs.
Image
While in the background you have officers commanding enlisted to do missions within the culture that they're stationed at. XCX mixes several styles of military bases so you see them doing everything from establishing supply lines, reconnaissance intel gathering, and (if it's like base in the middle east or some other shit hole.) missions where they kill or subdue the local populace to establish perimeters.

I was actually wondering why I even bother keeping the Switch around since I don't even like most of the faggy games on the system (Fire Emblem, Metroid & Xenoblade are the only ones I give a shit about and imo all 3 of them would be way more popular if they were on Steam or Gaystation), but XCX reminded me why.
I love this Sci Fi Gnostic Biblical shit, and this time in XCX, its story is basically modeled after Ghost in the Shell and even has her actress as one of the mains that you can choose.
What I find funny about Xenoblade 3, is that game's plot is centered around modern era Prison Planet Alex Jones type of gnosticism but most of the English Fan base don't seem to know that.
It's pretty obvious because the main conflict of XC3 is about people who live in The Eternal Now, AKA people whose lives are completely governed by The Current Thing.
Xenoblade might be the one game that could convince me to get a Switch 2, if a new XC played like XCX anyway.
I just don't understand how you could from a game that's near perfect but then devolve it into whatever the fuck XC2 & 3 are. I didn't even like the original Xenoblade but XCX is a much more refined version of XCX in practically every aspect except for maybe characters since all of XCX's characters seem generic so far except for Elma.

I mained Elma in Xenoblade 2, and she came off like Dante from Devil May Cry in that game. She was so damn OP.
I need to rebuy the Xeno series again, since I sold every single one of them. (I hate the English fanbase.)
At most I should at least rebuy the original Xenoblade since it's the most replayable. XB1 is similar to Final Fantasty 7 in that the story is constantly moving forward. XB2 I might rebuy again just for all of the hot biches, even Kos Moss & Telos are in it. This isn't unusual, I also bought Three Houses, Mario Kart 8, BOTW, Fire Emblem Three Houses & Mario 3d world at least twice. I didn't keep Mario world though, I should've but all of the non-Donkey Kong platformers just aren't that deep imo and I get bored of the simple fun.
Basically feels like I'm playing kiddy games. If I had kids, I'd just give them all of my nintendo crap that they'd most likely just sell off anyway because what kid actually wants these games anyway? Kids want $100 GTA6 or some other similar trash.
Nintendo is basically Videogame disney where the main audience are actually 40 year Millennial manchildren who are completely enraptured by Saturday morning cartoon character nostalgia.

Switch direct launched. I just reached the part where they announced Duskbloods. I'll be back later after I roam the internet to watch what I expect to be absolute METLDOWNS from Sony fanboys for what is essentially Bloodborne 2 exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2.

When the guy says "This can't be exclusive right?* Shuhei Yoshida was speechless.
