So there was a Nintendo Direct yesterday, weird coz Nintendo didn't even fucking announce it. I could see why they didn't though. The direct was shit anyway. I heard so many rumors about more BOTW 2, Metroid Prime 4, Mario Odyssey 2, Mario Kart 10, or Mario Sunshine 2. All we got, are the same fucking games that we already knew were coming like shitass Bravely Default and Xenoblade Chronicles.


I knew about the MUA3 final dlc ahead of time since I downloaded it yesterday. Fuck yeah they gave Invisible Woman her forcefield crusher move. Phoenix now has a female playmate who can fuck shit up to her level.

OOOH 2kgames ports of games that you already don't play coz they suck.

LOL everything is trash except Xcom. Not that it matters since only part of the game is stored on the card, that's lame. I'm sick and tired of Turd-parties cheaping out, and not storing the entire game on the card. It's like they didn't even bother to resize the games for the Switch screen which would half the game's gb size. This is why the only physical games I bought so far are all published by Nintendo, coz turd parties are always cheap bastards and they then cry about how people on Nintendo systems only buy Nintendo games.

I'm hype as hell for XB.

Hardcore Xenoblade fans really piss me off though. They're actually angry that the trailer confirms that Alvis is the third Aegis (Holy Grail) that went missing, that Klaus mentioned in XB2.

XB1-tards are crying about how it changes the lore when Alvis was always an Ai-construct program that created everything. That's exactly what the motherfucking Aegis's are. They're data processing units who store information which allow Klaus to create everything by proxy. XB1 tards are mad, simply coz they think Alvis was meant to be the one who created everything, when that's what he still fucking does. Klaus is in XB1, lol. XB1 fans are really fucking annoying coz all they do is shit on XB2 for being too anime, when the entire series has always been anime.

(I love that he actually points out that the original XB & XBX don't even have an artstyle. It's just generic 3d-rendering.)

If they weren't so fucking stupid, they'd realize that XB2 is actually a retelling of the Xenogears plot. They even bring back that dumbass "soylent green is people" plotline, but the way it's used in XB2 is actually cool. XB2 shown to me that Xenogears has always had a solid plot, but where it went wrong was disc 2, due to lack of funding. Which is why the XG came off like one long boring ass exposition drop since that's literally what it had to be due to how Monolith Soft used to be fucking retards who didn't know how to manage properly projects back then.
It's prob the Nintendo influence that makes the Xenoblade games so good, since Nintendo traditionally doesn't like rpgs anyway (Ironic since that's basically what the Switch is, a Jrpg machine.), and expects every game to be gameplay focused. XB is one of those rare games where both the story & the gameplay are deep & complex.

You guys really sold me on the Xenoblade games. I didn't give them a chance at all, because I hated the rest of the Xeno series lol.

Monolith Soft has been gameplay focused ever since Soma Bringer. That's basically what Xenoblade games are, Nintendo's version of Soma Bringer, but overtime the XB games have been implementing more Xenogears & Xenosaga references. Kos-mos is in XB2, and it's implied to be the same exact Kos-mos from the Saga games coz she has a great relationship with the reincarnated-Shion from XB2.
Kos-Mos also already has advanced knowledge about Alrest and how the World Tree was created (implying that she existed before the Klaus-era Earth.), which no other blade seems to know, not counting the Aegis since they're not really Blades. Although Kos-Mos is not a Blade either, she's considered Artificial like Poppi.

I just so happened to hear how much of a masterpiece Xenogears was all through the PS1 era, then I played it and I wanted to end the game and my life due to how boring and slow it was.
Then I kept hearing, how deep and profound Xenosaga was during the PS2 era. I played that, and it had some of the worst writing I've ever read through in my life and that was 70% of the content of the game because the actual gameplay was more shallow than a final fantasy game (which are built from the ground to be accessible to people who never played rpgs in their lives lol.)
Of course I would assume that any Xeno game coming after that would be the same exact trash.
What made me interested in these games, is how you often mention how the battles take so long for reviewers because they don't know how to play the game.
That is what I think about most RPGs I like because random battles really don't take more than a minutes once you know how to play the game.

Still I believe there is some value in owning the data on a physical format, if anything because it will give you legal leeway to emulate it down the line in the future.

BD1 was trash to me, coz I don't like the combat system. It feels kinda brainless to have the gimmick of storing attacks since why would you do anything else but have at least one character charging up their attack the entire time?

That's one of the few Rpg maker 2k3 games that's actually good. I'm amazed that the gfx still look really good considering how fucking old that game is. It's like from 2009. XB's battles are long. That's what I like about it, it plays out lke a Real Time Strategy game and there's so much mass destruction going on-screen,





that it feels like an over the top anime, especially due to the music.


What most reviewers cry about is how you go through long waiting times of doing nothing, which is false. They just don't understand the rhythm of the combat. You're supposed to time your hits with the battle animation & cancel the attacks right as it strikes the enemy which immediatly cancels the animation into the next succesive attack that you've inputted.

You have several meters that are cooling down in the background. What you're supposed to do is switch to a fresh character whenever the current character you're using has run out of cool downs. I have my Mythra & Fiora specced out to have instant cooldowns that refresh after every successful canceled-attack which leads to me spamming the shit out of potions or rolling blade, & double spinning blade over & over until Fiora & Mythra stop refreshing. You can do it about 100 successive times, depending on how skilled you are at cancelling attacks.

THis is just describing the flow of combat of one character. It feels like a RTS because you're playing along side two other party numbers at the same time who have their own blades to switch out with.

The combat is so unique and it's specific to XB2 & Torna since XB1 plays nothing like it at all. XB1 is more like Final Fantasy XII from what I've seen.

I thought the same too. I'm not sure what exactly it was that got me interested in XB. I think it's mainly coz I saw so many jocks who love the shit out of XB like that Player Essence guy. (There's a ton of Jock-nerds on youtube, like Player Essence, Mr. H, or Amazing Lucas.)
Since they're jocks, they obviously love the game for the gameplay. The PlayerEssence guy won't shut the fuck up about how good the XB games are. Now I can't shut up about how good they are.
I can vouch that the gameplay is really deep, but what really sells it for me is that the writing is good too.

XG's problem were pacing issues. (I never played Saga seriously. I usually only play the intro dungeon and then turn it off.)
XB never has that problem coz they direct their story cutscenes like a movie, as in there's always something happening and even the body language is part of the storytelling.
Some of the cutscenes are directed to be so random, that it actually comes off as random like that scene when Tora is standing in front of the screen, obscuring the person who's currently speaking so you see Rex punch him in the face and walk right in front of him.

It's the minor details like that which give XB such a lively personality and soul. It doesn't feel like a design-by-comitte game like how most Western Triple A games do where all they do is follow a basic Heroes journey story template and then make everything overtly serious.

What I like about Xenoblade 2 is how on the surface, it looks like fucking retarded anime shit, but if you're actually intelligent & observant, you start to notice how well XB2 references real life science theories, & religions, and interweaves them so seamlessly with the narrative to the point where you have people who constantly diss the plot for being stupid anime shit, coz they're not well-read enough to understand the meta-narrative and the overarching plot. As well as people who think the story is really deep because of how it can correctly utilize the 10 dimensional string theory, reference Christian doctrine

You prob need to play it in Japanese though to see how well XB2 references Christianity since only the spoken Japanese dialogue directly uses the words Holy Chalice & God. The actual translation of Aegis, is weird and makes no sense especially when you see the visual metaphors in the game which directly fucking show a Holy Grail.
XB2 even had a scene where they were debating about the permanent immigrants camping in front of the holy city of Indol. It's obviously referencing Palestine & Israel but what I was most amazed by is how the game gave convincing arguments for both sides and it does so, so naturally that you would never guess that it was XB2 was talking about real life politics.

That's what good writing looks like, very nuanced. You can't tell that XB2 is actually referencing real life shit unless you're already familiar with the subjects its talking about.

I've already spoken in depth about the battle system at the PS4 board so I won't bother with that.
To me it's all self evident since the actual battle system is described to you within the multiple tutorials in the game that everyone seems to skip, lol.
I love that I can overdrive as Elma, then morph Pyra & Mythra into their true awakened Pneuma form.
Just the names of the characters alone probably already has you wondering about the plot of the game since the names actually are a reference to the plot.

I think it's fucking brilliant that Mythra is a Holy Chalice coz of what she actually does within the plot of XB2 & Torna. Torna is more like her downfall through over-arrogance which sets up the path of redemption in XB2.
I agree with the XB2 fans who criticize the localizers for thinking they're better writers than Tetsuya Takahashi. His writing style contains so many damn references that it seems to even go over the localizers' heads.

I used to buy everything digital coz it's cheaper, and I like looking at my huge collection of digital games that I don't even fucking play. I only switched over to physical after I realized that I have to go through a lot of bullshit just to play my digital games on a Switch lite.

I want to have multiple switches but I won't have acess to my full library unless I buy mostly physical. Physical is expensive as fuck on Switch coz ever ygame is $60. True, the latest MUA3 update is 4.7 gb so I'm damn glad that I bought a 128gb card early on, even if I don't really use it. Smash Bro Ultimate's file is going to be really big after the 2nd season pass although I haven't bought that pass yet. I need to see who's actually in it first. If XB2 Rex is in it (Along with censored Mythra & Pyra) and Ryu Hayabusa, then it's a purchase for me.
I really just want Rex though. I expect him to be like Rosalina and fight alongside Mythra/Pyra. It's most likely going to be Mythra though since she already has a costume that's censored for Smash Bros. It's like near impossible to censor Pyra and keep her design intact.

Lust for Darkness ain't just softcore. There is actual penetration and clear genitalia. Also, speaking of Agony, is on sell for $2 right now on the eshop.



Xenogears, Xenosaga 3 and Xenoblade X are my favorite Xeno games. Xenogears will always be the top for me, though. Xenogears had the most comprehensive plot, martial arts combat, and Mechs. The lack of pilotable mechs is the things I like the least about Chronicles.

I'm looking forward to TOCS3 on the Switch and Disaster Report. Though I would rather have TOCS3 on PC, sense there is no guarantee Falcom will let them bring 4 to the switch. Also, i saw that they were release a new enhanced edition or remake of the Crossbell games. Znk and AnK Kai.

I may weight though. I still haven't completed TOCS2. I'm near the end, but I haven't hooked my PS3 up in so long. Ever since I got my switch. Still haven't clear Persona 5 either, though I'm at the end.

Now that MUA3 is finally complete with all 3 dlc, I'm gonna have to increase that game's score to a 9. Pretty crazy how shitty that game is without the dlc though. It wasn't shit, it was just average. The DLC actually makes the game feel complete, and the entire Fantastic 4 crew play so well.

MUA1 still has the best level designs, since they actually felt like mazes but MUA3 has the best combat since it actually feels like a party-based game where teamwork matters. Some characters like Dr Doom & Invisible Woman don't even need a team though.
So far my fave switch games are Smash Bros Ultimate, Xenoblade 2 & Torna, BOTW & MUA3. Probably in that order too. I dunno, I think I like XB2 the best.
MUA3 would prob be higher, but I don't recommend it at all without the DLC. The final campaign that was just released yesterday just feels so essential that the game isn't worth it without the DLC. Especially since the Season pass locks out the Fantastic 4 & Dr Doom, who are the most iconic Marvel Universe team & villain.

Smash, Xeno & BOTW can be enjoyed without the dlc, although I own the season pass for Smsh & Xeno.

Torna had martial arts. Lora has a kempo stance but she seems to do Karate. (Straight punches & spin kicks.) Yeah the lack of playable mechs sucks, but I love how fastpaced XB2's combat is. I also love all of the different weapons you can use, from handguns, to laser cannons, dual blades, kukris, swords, spears, axes, there's a wide arsenal of weapons at your disposal, if you can actually unlock the Blades. For some reason, most Rare Blades are easier to unlock when you try to go for them after Morag joins you. You ain't getting shit if you try to get a Rare later on in the game. I haven't gotten anyting good ever since Zeke joined.

XG didn't have good combat, only coz most rpgs from that era weren't balanced at all. I think only Persona 1 had decent combat for its time. It's unplayable now though.

Xenoblade 2 actually has proper storytelling since it shows it to you, rather than passively telling you about the plot.
I also didn't really like how angsty & nihilistic XG was. XB2 has a similar plot, but it wasn't nihilistic at all.
Neither of their plots were bad though. XG has a reason to be angsty since they live in a SMT Nocturne like reality where they exist merely to be destroyed or processed at the soylent system.

I prefer XB2's plot though coz the entire conflict didn't even originate from God/Klaus. XB2's plot originated from misunderstandings, paranoia, & delusions about God, but the actual God of XB2 didn't actually do anything. The only thing he did is delete the previous the society to make room for a new evolutionary cycle. He lost his optimism when he realized that the new Earth he created was exactly the same as the previous Earth that he came from, filled with greedy, indolent assholes.

The interesting part for me is that Alrest's evolutionary cycle is so drastically different from ours, yet no matter what, humans still act exactly the same, like fucking paranoid dumbasses who enslave everyone, and war with everything.

XG & XB2's plots are so similar that they both end the same way, with the Heroes flying through the clouds.
In XG, this was just the heroes finally being free from their God's slaughterhouse society that they were born into.
In XB2, they show the same exact cloud scene but they expand upon it to show the death of the Titans, whos' dead bodies form the Pangaea super continent which existed in Earth's ancient past.
Morytha and XB1's ending (which was expanded on during the intro cutscene of XB2's final chapter.) showed that Alrest is actually Earth in the far future.

What I like about both XB & XG is that the games revolve around the Birth of Civilization being created & maintained by Advanced technology. Both games are governed by AI programs, which act by proxy through an assisstant data processor. XG's Miang was a program that randomly overrided other womans' souls to continue & complete its mission for God.

XB2 uses the same Miang concept but this time they split her into 3 different characters. If Miang was just a Harbingers of death. In XB2 we get Malos who serves the same basic function and Mythra who is the redeemer, and is most likely the reason why they're titled as the Holy Chalices.
Mythra is interesting coz she redeems Klaus's hope in humanity when she brings Rex to the sky, to meet him.
Another twist I like is that Malos thinks he exists to kill God (Miang exists to serve her God.), Malos tries to kill god, but couldn't even lay a finger on him, so he just resumed his other programming to destroy the entire human-society.
Malos thinks these things due to the influence of the Praetor, who was a deludded man who believed himself to be the herald of God, or at least the Holy Grails, even though he couldn't actually control either Malos or Mythra.

I'm looking forward to TOCS3 on the Switch and Disaster Report. Though I would rather have TOCS3 on PC, sense there is no guarantee Falcom will let them bring 4 to the switch. Also, i saw that they were release a new enhanced edition or remake of the Crossbell games. Znk and AnK Kai.

I didn't like the TOCS3 demo at all. I played on Nightmare and my god is that game boring. Ugly too. It's basically the same game as TOCS2, that's the problem though. It still looks & plays like a game from a few generations ago, lol. I also hated how I couldn't even skip past the story synopsis once I clicked on a chapter.

Bravely Default 2's demo is actually really good though. The gfx are also really pretty. It looks ugly from youtube videos, but it's like Link's Awakening remake, in that it actually looks beautiful when you see it in motion. It's still the same type of game that BD1 was, but I guess I really liked it coz it didn't look like a cheap piece of shit like TOCS3 does. BD2 actually looks like a Switch game. The gfx are comparable to Smash Bros. BD2 is also pretty damn hard. You have to know exactly when to expend your brave or you will get mobbed on.

I'd get BD2 day 1 if I weren't getting XB DC & Trials of Mana. Trials of Mana actually did censor Angela. She still does the mooning pose, but the camera pans up so you can't see her ass. She also doesn't wear a thong anymore. At least she's not wearing granny panties though like Marvel Girl in MUA3, lol.

The Disaster Report demo is the same exact demo I played on Japanese PSN. The Switch version has severe frame rate issues, but it was the PS4 version also had the same exact frame rate issues.
I'm disappointed it was dubbed in English though, since part of the fun of the Raw Danger games for me, were the hillariously shitty English voice acting.
EDIT: Fucking typo. I meant that Disaster Report 4 isn't dubbed in English. I miss the terrible voice acting that made the games feel like a terribly-dubbed Godzilla movie. DR4 has great choice & consequences, it just won't be as replayable to me since the voice acting is no longer shit, due to keeping it in Japanese where they actually do a decent job of creating a frightening atmosphere.

Panzer Dragoon looks nice, but it's just a timed exclusive, which makes me wonder if timed exclusives are paying off for nintendo or not since they lost exclusivity on TSA DxM Octopath and so many more.
I reached the final boss in DxM and it's crazy hard for me, I will probably have to improve my mech before I can finish the boss. The annoying part is that it takes a couple mid-bosses before you get to the real one. Such a good game though.
ARMS is free for a while and it plays great, I might grab an used copy somewhere if they're cheap.
