I detect cognitive dissonance. You most likely thought it was too edgy too, since you dropped it for being too violent. I read through the whole thing, but I still thought it was retarded & edgy. There's a scene where the little Chinese girl just runs into a Hasidic Jew and explodes his entire body. There's also a scene where Homolander calls a White family a bunch of dumbasses for believing in God & religion and then compares them to a dumb N-word still playing with a tree branch and shit. It's meant to be edgy, but it just sounds like a 13 year old wrote it.

The show is a completely faithful adaptation of the original comic.
Grant Morrison wrote this (I'm not checking if I'm right, I am right) and the political overtones are completely in line with what one would expect from Gen X "graphic novels".

I can confirm everything about this is correct. Grant Morrison tastefully tackles the issues of toxic masculinity, christofascism, trumpism and right wing extremism in the tv show he co-wrote and produced
