Overtime nintendo games keep up high prices for the collectors hobbies
I pre-order since I can't hack my switch as for now
Not 4k pc, tv yes
That's some dumbass logic. The physical games cost that much due to scarcity & demand. The price would lower if Nintendo suddenly did a reprint of old ass N64, Gaycube & wii games for those same exact systems.
Only Jewtendo would actually kike the shit out of their own consumer base by selling a fucking $60 rom of Mario 64, and you nintnedo idiots actually buy it for $60. WTF is wrong with you dumbasses?
Seriously, the physical version Switch Pirate Warriors 3 costs $99 (it got priced down to the low low price of $97.) precisely due to scarcity & demand,
https://www.amazon.com/Piece-Pirate-War ... mes&sr=1-7
but thankfully Namco sells Pirate Warriors 3 for about $30 on the Nintendo eshop. Granted, they'd probly sell it for $60 if they knew they could get away with it like Nintendo.
Nintendo is indicative of the behavior that I was talking about at the Xbox thread.
viewtopic.php?f=10&t=26&p=994#p994
Main difference though, is that Nintendo games are actually good. Suckboxx gameers are just drug addictted losers who need their Xbox fix. Lord who knows what the fuck they're playing since Xbox has nothing. Gears of War stopped being good after GOW3. Halo has been Gaylo ever since Bungie left the franchise. Xbox continues to turn legendary Nintendo games like Perfect Dark, Banjo Kazooie, Batltetoads & Killer Instinct, into shit!
I still don't see myself buying a $60 Mario 64 rom though, that's only at 30 fps & 480p coz the Switch can't handle Mario 64 at 60fps & 720p, lol! Nobody is buying Mario All stars for Sunshine, and Galaxy seems really annoying to play with the forced gyro controls to mimic the Wii-penis waggle.
I dropped BOTW and sold it for like $50 coz I fucking hated the gyro dungeons and I was stuck at that shitty Thief hideout section, where you have 0 chance of beating it through combat, but even stealthing through it is hard coz BOTW has garbage stealth, lol.
Only Nintendo can get away with such an amatuerly designed section of gameplay. It was so bad to me, that BOTW automatically turned into a 5 out of 10, down from an 8 coz I've never seen such a badly designed game section before which stands out, coz the rest of BOTW is designed around freedumb. Yet that one section of the game is designed as if someone made a Tenchu mod out of a Zelda game, but decided to make a Tenchu level that's unbalanced as hell lol.
Speaking of which, Xenoblade 1 is complete garbage and also an unblanced piece of shit, but the other way around. XB1 is eaaaassssssy even on Expert mode. XB1 really revealed to me that people only hate on XB2, coz XB2's combat actually has multiple layers of complexity and is hard as fuck on Bringer of Chaos.
Not even XB1's story is good, lol. XB1's story is basically the NES version of Double Dragon 2 even your bitch gets brought back to life just like the NES version of Doublr Dragon 2, lol! Oh in the second half, YOU fight an Evil rpince and then you fight God for the final encounter! Holy shit that's so original!
I don't understand how that's better than XB2 where the plot revolves around finding a stereotypical mcguffin, but ends in a 3 way battle vs the protags, The Torna rebel alliance & the Church racing up the world tree, which is actually a skyscraper from the 2000s Earth of our timeline, which goes up so high that it reaches the universe. XV2's World tree actually brings you to the same exact out of space location as the final boss of XB1.
Moreever, the final battles of XB2 is you chasing down the Torna Rebel group as they all try to slow you down so that Jin or Malos can make it to the top before you do.
Since it's a three way battle, the Church kills off Torna before you do, and then you kill off the Praetor of the Church, and then you start fighting against your own allies once they find out that you wasted their fucking time when the magical mcguffin place is revealed to be a dead desert city, that are the remains of an Earth metropolis from the year 2000s, lol!
You meet god after that, find out that god is a homie from the year 2000s of Earth before he repopulated Earth into the worlds of Xenoblade 1 & 2, and God thought that Rex & Pyra/Mythra were such a cute couple that he decides to help you kill the final memeber of Torna, Malos.
Malos reached the top first, and he proceeds to destroy the entire world. You engage in a final battle with him, and during that battle, you hear Shulk killing God in the Xenoblade 1 reality which weakens your God homie in the Xenoblade 2 reality so God-Homies gives the last of his power to Mythra before he died turns into dust, coz Shulk killed him in the other Xenoblade 1 reality, lol!
I'll go into detail about the stories of both Xenoblade games at either the Jrpg thread or the "Games with good stories" thread. Which is a hilarious title for a thread, coz the truth is. NO GAMES have a good story, lol.
Oh sure, Xenoblade is genius at parts, Tactics Ogre & Suikoden are really good at politics & history. Shadow Hearts has pretty decent character development and Trails of Cold Shit has good world building, but none of them put the entirety of their good qualities into one single cohesive package the way that One Piece, a shonen manga does. Vidya gaems are so out of their league, that I don't understand why they try.
I'm guessing it's coz Vidya gaems are really good at mimicking Film's visual story telling. That's actually the main reason why everyone prefers Xenoblade 1's plot. They don't actually like the plot, they just like how XB1's cinematics, make it look like a movie. They also ignore how everyone in XB1 looks like a lifeless doll though, coz nobody ever fucking emotes. Which is jarring when compared to Xb2's cinematics where they're emoting and telling story through body language all the time.
It's as I said in the Xbox thread. Gamers seem to be mentally retarded, or legit autistic. They don't function or think like normal people, thus they can not gauge the quality of a product like a normal person, because they don't even understand what human-like means. Their only gauge for quality is by the measure of how much a game mimics Hollywood Movie film techniques, which is made the most obvious with Gaystation 4 suckclusives such as Goy of War 4 & Last of Us 2.
Ninetndo fans have problems too, but in their case, they really love 6 out of 10 games simply coz Nintendo made it.
Xenoblade 1 is a 6 out of 10, and damn near everyone (except Enel,
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/20 ... 2/76845830
who's the only Xenoblade fan who isn't retarded. He even has his own youtube channel which is actually the most popular XB channel.
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCGV2mF ... SKAzejDrBQ )
claims that they love XB1 more, but they can't even explain to you why it's better.
I'll tell you why Nintendofaggots love Xenoblade 1 so much, it's cause it's Nintendo's first Jrpg with a fairly high budget that was actually ok. Prior to XB1, they only got stuff like Golden Sun. Pokemon is technically a Jrpg but it's in its own league. Xenoblade 1 was the first Jrpg that actually felt like something that came from the PS2 era. Gamecube, Wii & N64 were really lacking in Jrpgs. Hilariously even Xbox 360 had way more Jrpgs than Wii, N64 & Gaycube had combined.
It's due to this, that Nintendo retards overrate the shit out of Xenoblade 1, because they never experinced the best that the Jrpg genre had to offer, which were all on the PS2 & PS1. What I don't understand is why do they shit on Xenoblade 2? That game is actually good. To rephrase that, XB2 is actually only hated in the West. Most of the people hating on XB2, hate only coz it has a lot of sexy character designs. Western gamers are weird, and they tend to hate all forms of fan pandering & fan service. They think of it as selling out.

That's a really dumb argument by LordRetard.

I like her design, but in the context that it's in, it sends yet another depressing message about AAA dev's knowledge of gamers and of their plan to keep making money. I'm going to bet that the design isn't even put to good use.

I, for one, am glad Nintendo isn't pressuring developers under them to cut this kind of art out even if so many people want them to. I guess they actually like money. Who knew?

Right. I'm not asking that she be cut. What's done is done, and if she were never included, I'd never know about her. I like the design, you like the design, and it's good for business. I am, however, asking that the next time someone decides to put a prominently-displayed voluptuous woman with such conspicuously large breasts in a mainstream game, at least let it not be solely for the sake of publicity or cynical pandering.

What makes it cynical pandering? Why is this type of art not okay in a "mainstream" game? Why does the type of art I like need to be pushed out of the mainstream?

In the context of Xenoblade 2, I personally feel like this kind of design communicates a message from the developers to the players, and
the message is "we know what you think you want, and we're going to use that knowledge to make money off of you".
At no point did I say "IT'S NOT OKAY FOR THIS TYPE OF ART TO BE IN A MAINSTREAM GAME". I am not an SJW.
Let me rephrase what I said:
IT IS OKAY to put this kind of art in a MAINSTREAM game, BUT! if you're going to do that, let the design be more relevant to the game. For
example, if the game was about a snow bunny boy and a snow bunny girl surviving through winter and mating like rabbits, then Dahlia's
design would make way more sense. Her beauty would attract you to her. Her fur would keep her warm. Her large hips would help her give
birth to your babies. Her boobs would help her feed them.
My criticism is ultimately about context. Does that make more sense?

I think my issue with this is how this seems to only ever apply to women. Every game is hit with these same arguments about context, realism and such but female characters are pretty much the only targets. The added insult of saying it's pandering or just to make money devalues women in games as a whole.
The game has a metric ton of characters in it from a wide variety of artists. I can understand discussing context but I roll my eyes now when it excludes male characters or creatures. Only women and only their looks seem to rile people up which makes it seem less like real criticism and more like bandwagon bashing.
A game doesn't have to revolve around a character to justify that character in the game. Dahlia is one of many that don't have deep reasons for existing, she's a background character, a rare blade just like the countless others. I think it's unreasonable to ask for a whole game to revolve around a background character to justify that character. That should eliminate almost all the rare blades in the game.
I mean, what about Kos-Mos, what justification is there for her to be in the game other than using knowledge that fans might like it and they can make money? Is that an issue? It seems like the basic set-up with rare blades being from different artists should make this whole game an issue, not just the sexy women.

It certainly does SEEM that way, since it's the only time anyone ever stops to have these discussions.
That's an excellent observation, and I commend you for making it. You are right, the concepts of context
and realism should apply to every detail of the game. The only reason why I'm centering the discussion on Dahlia
is because she's the only character design from Xenoblade 2 that I actually like. I know people are also talking
about Pyra, but I don't really like her, and for that reason, I'm not going to discuss her or any other character in
the game.
Right. Whenever the bandwagon comes rolling on by, I usually only ever feel like throwing my 2 cents in. I am not
against sexuality being depicted in games. As a matter of fact, I am very much for it, and more of it too. I just have
a personal preference on how I think it should be done.
That, I think, is my main issue here. The character who I think has the best design in the game also happens to be
a character that was pushed to the background, and who also has a shallow reason for existing. I'm not asking for
Xenoblade 2 to revolve around Dahlia, I'm saying that I would have preferred Xenoblade 2 and the game I described
as separate games to begin with.
I understand that gaming is an industry and that making money is a goal, but my opinion here is that game making is
being treated more as a money-making science than an art; that cheap money grabbing tactics have usurped artistry.
Money should serve game design. Game design should not serve money.

I think the bandwagon negativity comes from game journalists framing sex in any form in a negative light. Framing a discussion seems to have a much bigger impact on the outcome than I thought. I think it's why journalism ideally strives to be impartial because biases can cause a lot of harm.
If people framed sex appeal in art as sexually liberating or something like that then we'd all be praising the same art so many call sexist now. It seems people get so deep into their beliefs they can't even see there is another side and choose to hover around sites that validate their already closely held beliefs. Debate becomes undesirable.
That's my 2 cents on the bandwagon stuff, anyway.
As for this game, I don't believe it was a cheap money grabbing tactic that damaged the art, I find it to be the opposite. The game took a risk by having content that Nintendo has censored in the years before, including the last Xenoblade game. Including sex appeal in a big game that releases in the west is frowned upon these days. Look at the reaction to XBC2 now, it's overwhelming negative on social media.
Censoring this game to appease the complainers and journalists who would hold it up as an example of a game that's so sexist it had to be altered would be damaging the artistry in my opinion. Fire Emblem Fates and Tokyo Mirage Sessions come to mind. Releasing it unedited was a risk. It appears Nintendo doesn't want to split it's audience anymore by causing outrage with censorship. They were getting hit hard for that.
The game design doesn't seem to be made for money reasons, either. It's exceptionally complex and somewhat unintuitive. It's not really a pick up and play game that will appeal to a mass market.
In Japan, gaming isn't considered as art at all. They categorize video games as toys. Another thing, Japanese people view all consumerist products as products that you're meant to consume, so the end goal is to market it towards people who will most likely consume it. Westerners are fucking hilarious coz they always try to turn every thing into a big political movement. The mere act of consumption is a political movement to a Westerner.
It's funny coz in Japan, Japanese people love it when they see their fave celebrities shilling for stupid products, coz it means they get more content of their fave celebrities. I'll talk more about the cultural differences between Occidentals & Orientals in the "Games with good stories" thread coz even what's considered as a good story widely differs between the cultures. For some reason, Jap writing is always labeled as bad, when the best forms of modern writing I've seen tends to come from Japan.
Occidentals are fucking funny, in that they only love stories that rip off Lord of the Rings, which is why damn near everything from the west is either a rip off of Lord of the Rings, or Walking Dead for some reason. Walking Dead (the comic & tvs show.) isn't even good, lol.
I don't even understand what's so wrong about Dahlia's design from Xenoblade 2. It's as if none of these losers have ever played Darkstalkers, where Felecia was a similarly designed character, and just as naked and that game was uncensored in American arcades. American culture was less gay & prude back then though.
Kinda weird to put prude & gay in the same sentence but that's where we're at now. It's the LGBT who act like a bunch of Christian soccer moms. Dahlia & Bayonetta were both designed by women, but both of the female designers constantly get called Incels, LOL!
Personally my fave Blade design is Azami, but I really love goth bitches so that was obvious. I even love her personality, she's fucking dark & macabre like Nico Robin. I think the controversy behind Dahlia is hilarious though, coz I played XB2 for 250 hours, and I've only seen her for bout 3 of the hours that I played XB2. Fan pandering my ass. She's such a rare blade that you could go through two playthroughs without ever seeing her. Once I got her, I didn't see what was so controversial about her. She's basically Felecia from Dark Stalkers, but Felecia was made back during an era where Americans weren't gay. Americans still aren't it's just that the common American voice actually gets banned from the internet, lol. Having a normy opinion gets you banned from sites like Twitter. They label normal heterosexual opinions as Far Right Extremism.
In any case, I think it's funny how XB2 is hated in the USA due to fan service when I think XB1 has more risque attire, since you can actually undress the entire cast, in their underwear. Fiora even wears lingerie. That's internet arguements for you. Everything is selective and strawhatted, just to make a point. A fucking stupid point, for a non issue.
