July,05: Killer 7 SINdicate originated as a sub section of a failed Megaten site.

As I said, I pay culture wars lip-service but I normally use culture wars to talk about what I actually want to focus on. I recall one time, I wanted to talk about how different social-economic backgrounds reflect your politics and I used examples of childhood friends I had. (We're all Military.)

If that's incorrect, please give me the proper history. I only told him that because I thought it explained why your response and interpretations of killer7 were so different from the internet at large (both back then, and especially now where people are dramatically more retarded) and I thought that was worth mentioning because it's interesting.
I do remember that site, I used part of its graphics in one of those cow trailers. That one pic with a bloody keyboard computer, it came from that site. That site is so forgotten that even I forgot about it. I'd get loads of hatemail at the original megaten site I made because everyone said it sucked. What's weird is that I used the same approach for K7 but got the exact opposite reaction.
I don't really think I used occultism to deduce K7. I just actually read what was in the game, which is of an extremely political nature. Political as in political documents like Man Machine Interface. Ghost in the Shell MMI is about corporate warfare.
An amusing part about Ghost in the Shell's setting is that world war 3 & 4 were fought due to corporations becoming the new kings. That's what the NRx is about, the corpo is the monarch, and the security troops & the employees function as a new form of feudalism, but instead of farmers, you're a lame cashier. It's a god awful endgame but it's way better than what we currently have which is rule by unseen managerial oligarchs who hide behind the veil of democracy.
I explain this because Ghost in the Shell takes place in a world where two world wars were fought so that the military can regain control of nations as the dominant corporation or king. Although in GITS I think corpos & military function as checks & balances against each other due to the conclusion of WW4.
I just find it amusing because the story to GITS is very realistic but most people don't realize that, they just think it's dumb femme fatale animu slop with scantily clad women.
If people actually paid attention to what they read, they'd see that a lot of these stories are talking about something that's completely different to what's been shown through its aesthetics.
K7 makes it clear that it's a Ghost in the Shell or Metal Gear Solid style espionage narrative. What's going on in K7 is basically an adventure story version of Phantom Doctrine's gameplay. In Phantom Doctrine, you're constantly changing aliases and 'killing' your past self to take on new identities.
It's just a function of PD's gameplay whereas in K7, that's the actual story.
K7's plot isn't that deep at all. The reason why it resonates so much with us are all of the spiritual elements within the game. Kinda like how even The Sopranos has plenty of spiritual & metaphysical elements to it
that for some reason only the actor who portrayed ChristaFuh Moltisanti can see it, or understand it. (he's a Buddhist I think. He has his own Yoga channel.)
The rest of the cast just assumes that Sopranos is your typical mobster story. It's not, if it were then I wouldn't like it.
The problem is that with most gamers, they don't understand how to read stories. They think of writing as just the physical actions of a plot. Which is why most game plot summaries are just describing to you the object-oriented goals of the game.
That's how you get something like the original Final Fantasy 7 PSX which is an individuation story using Sephiroth as Cloud's repressed ID & shadow-self. Since gamers are legit media-illiterate, they completely ignore all of the context within the game so all they see is super badass Dragon ball Z story where two pretty boys kill each other with their long swords. I bet modern day internet thinks of Final Faggotry 7 as a veiled homolust story using the swords as symbolism for their lust of each other.
It would also completely ignore the plot within the game where it's shown that Cloud & Sephiroth barely have anything to do with each other. Seph is a metaphor. That's what made FF7 such a mature plot during its era and still is in the modern era since even the remake completely misses the point of ff7.
Within the gaming community, I'm constantly labeled as lacking "media literacy" when I'm probably one of the only ones who actually has enough literacy to get most of these plots.
When you get that enough times, you just move on. It's not worth it, there's a reason why gaming sucks ass these days. It's exactly what the gamers want. Just Consooom product, then be ready for next Consooomable product.
BTW MG2, MGS1 - MGS3 has legendary writing. Even the shit that I used to make fun of, I realized that my pops has the same exact mannerisms as Snake. So when Snake repeats a single word he does it for the same exact reason my pops does, they both want you to completely elaborate on the subject. It's crazy just how accurate to the military that Kojima's MGS trilogy was. I haven't played MGS1 since I was a teen in Japan and I'm amazed by just how intense that game's atmosphere & story are. Too bad it's the only 3d Metal Gear game that had that cyberpunk military Ghost in the Shell vibe.
