Best games you haven't played (With score)

Post by Cat »

As the title says, this is a thread for discussing the top games one has never played and assigning them a score out of forty.
This can be based for example on footage seen, general impressions or from imagination. It isn't important.

I'll start.

No More Heroes

The game which introduced many to Suda51 and kickstarted a whole series I've never played.
A somewhat cartoonish departure from Suda's previous work with some interesting experimentation and characters.
Holding the Wiimote like a telephone when receiving calls was an inventive use of the hardware not seen in many other games.
The part-time job thing, collecting t-shirts and map exploration by motorcycle all seems very appealing too.

30/40

Uncharted

It seems like it has mutts and horrible hollywood quips, also the framerate looks bad

Planescape Torment

A classic WRPG set in an abstract metaphysical settings that has a lot of existential themes and philosophical questions and stuff.
The writing is strong enough to presumably distract you that everything to do with the actual gameplay is some real cancer.
Probably would have worked betterl if it had just been a visual novel but they don't make those in the west.
I'm sure it's a creative and well written game that really makes you think.

Shadow of the Colossus

Doesn't look very interesting. Superior to 99% of games.
The game that started and ended every other conversation related to gaming for about a decade.
I think I own three copies.

Good: Desolate, grey, angelic girl in coma, big horse, Yoot-style viral marketing campaign.
Bad: Has gameplay, has a plot.

20/40

PS: In a sane world the Bluepoint "remaster" should have caused another Gamergate (or should I say a first?).

Pro Evolution Soccer 2022

I've never played it in my life because I don't play sports games at all, at least traditional ones

pros: noone in the fanbase ever harrassed me about having to sleep with white obese american ladyboys in order to cure my national socialism, francesco "er pupone" totti might or might not be in the game

cons: extensive use of microtransactions, I don't know any of the players, I don't know any of the teams, I don't know the rules of soccer

final score: 34/40

Rent A Hero No. 1

Liberating the most adventure-like JRPG elements from their "turn-based" cage, an adventure game composed entirely of memorable side quests resulting in an unparalleled advancement of the genre, contender for best game ever made.

Pros: I watched my obese Dutch shadow self play it.

Cons: The theme revolves around you as a "superhero" although offset by its highly Japanese execution.

That is dishonest, even a minor reference to capeshit is enough to offset it by at least one point. Also the gameplay is mediocre at best and the gameplay loop is poorly constructed / planned, it does not account for the in-game economy properly. I've never heard of this game

Wolong

I saw the announcement trailer and I am interested because it's a team ninja game, but I am so fucking tired of every single game having to present itself as dark souls, or some variation of dark souls. Dark Souls is an MKUltra globalist conspiracy to destroy the entire genre of third person action games. For that reason I give it a 0/40, best game ever made
