He was the last of the founding members of Atlas. Now, its entire soul has left.
Here is the original interview in Japanese. He now works for COPOL. Whatever that is. He joined them last year apparently, which means he left Atlas much earlier.

Its interesting to read that his work on Megami Tensei wasn't initially just artwork. he actually have design the game from the concept stage.
"What were your thoughts when you joined COLOPL?
Kaneko: It's very clean, including the people, working hours, and atmosphere in the company. It's easy to communicate, and no one tries to dominate or argue unnecessarily. We have the same goal and can have constructive discussions . For example, when I make a proposal, they think about it together with me, saying, "Well, how about this?", which I really appreciate."
I think he was referring to his experience at Atlas in the end here.
